The Morrison Government has committed $500,000 for a feasibility study of a project that aims to improve living standards and community wellbeing in Yarrabah, Queensland.
The Yarrabah Initiative is proposed by a consortium comprising of the Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council and the Yarrabah Leaders Forum, Melbourne Business School, Murra Indigenous Entrepreneurship Program and Asia Pacific Social Impact Centre and private sector organisations WD Scott Global and BroadReach in partnership with Vantage Technologies.
The initiative proposes to use private and public investments to develop and implement strategies to address a wide range of factors which impact on the community’s wellbeing. Strategies to improve health, housing, employment, infrastructure, economic development, education and legal practices as well as support programs for community members to use upgraded services.
